Akcan Business Park
In 1969, DeHoff Development Company began their first major development venture in the City of Green, the 371-acre Akcan Industrial Park. The large site, previously a clay mine, was a heavily blighted area with large clay pits being used as a dumping ground. DeHoff had visions of a light industrial park on the site, despite the land's overwhelming abuse.
In 1973, Akcan officially opened but was still struggling. Committed to the project, DeHoff held the site through a bad economy, government red tape, and cash flow problems until it finally turned around in the late 80's. The site is currently home to more than 30 light industrial businesses. Akcan currently has 100+ acres available for development.
